Lou and Kap Chermac

Lou and Kap were founding members of their club in 1997, provided leadership and fostered growth of their club over the years. Lou has served as President, Vice President, Trustee, and organized the club DJ’s and chairing the DJ committee for over a decade.

Kap has served as President, Secretary, newsletter editor, and web site development. She also served as ABA Secretary and club representative. They are Charter members of their club too.

Whether it’s organizing the club music on a laptop, teaching, volunteering for anything, Kap and Lou are very involved.

2012

Bud Waters

Bud Waters

Bud has served on the board of WCSDC for 12 years, 5 of them as President.  He also served as Treasurer and Vice President, newsletter editor and web master. As Vice President of the Midwest Swing Dance Federation and founder of the Moolah Shrine Swing Dance Club, Bud has been an instructor for many years as well as chairing WCSDC’s annual event “Rollin On The River” for 10 years.

Having DJ’d for over 50 years, Bud has DJ’d for all of the local St. Louis dance clubs as well as many out-of-town events. He is a member of the National Association of Rhythm & Blues DJs and teaches at organized swing dance clubs as well as charitable organizations.

Sue and Jackie Kestner

Jackie and Sue Kestner

Sue and Jackie are an inseparable DJ team. Jackie sets up the equipment and Sue plays the music since 1993 for MCBC.  They joined the club in 1992. Jackie has been involved in building the club dance floor and DJ Booth at the Maxwell House Hotel. They set up and maintained the club web site, Club newsletter and do the IT work for the club.

They are both members of the Association of Beach and Shag DJs and the National Association of Rhythm and Blues DJs. They have DJ’d for many out-of-town events also.

Marlene Frazier

Marlene Frazier

Marlene has been a member of the JBBA since 1977, and danced all over town and nationally. For years she was a vendor, selling clothes at many of the out-of-town events. Over the years, she learned many different dance styles.

Marlene has competed in many dance competitions and helped others learn her craft. She has made many friends in the dance community all over the country and is considered to be “the life of the party”.

Mike Hall

Mike Hall

Mike has been a member of the DCBA since 1995. He has served as President, Vice President, Treasurer, Activities Director and lead planner for DCBA’s annual event “Boogie In The Bluegrass” for years.

Mike continues to work tirelessly for the club, Djing at his club for years, and his love for “our” music doesn’t stop at his club. He has DJ’d at many out-of-town club events. He served as President of the National Association of Rhythm and Blues DJ Association and a member of the Association of Shag & Beach DJs. He has also DJ’d at many ABA cruises.

2014

Norm Oden

Norm Oden

Norm is one of the founding members of Chicago’s Windy City Jitterbug Club and served on the first Board of Directors in 1989. He served as a dance instructor and club DJ for years. He DJ’d at the Chicago Jitterbug Club and out of town events.

He is a member of the National Association of Rhythm and Blues DJs and has a huge selection of music, much of it on 45 singles. Norn is a highly respected and dedicated DJ in our dance community.

Stuart Rogers

Stuart Rogers

Stuart was one of the founding members of GLSDC in 1991.He has held every board position over the years; President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant of Arms. He has taught swing dance lessons for the club, performed demos at assisted living and nursing homes.  and has been a team leader, driver, hauler, decorator, newsletter editor, and more.

Stuart is also one of the club DJs and maintains the equipment and music library.
