Dancing - Share the Fun!

For my 1st ABA website article, I should introduce myself I'm Don Mindach, VP, DJ, Teacher, and long time I.T. Consultant, and my home Club is "Indy Dancers".‍

Founded in 1983 as a self help "just for the fun of it" (our motto) dance group in   Indianapolis Indiana. Our Club is all about the "Dance Party" concept in our events with styles said to be "all over the place but FUN".

Asked to write something for the website, I had to ponder, "What subject, pertaining to dancing would be most interesting to the ABA readers".  I came on this idea: Why not write to our fellow ABA members about introducing their non-dance friends to the "Joy of Dancing".

Appreciating dancing is a wonderful gift you can give to your real friends. As members know, something truly magic happens at one of our many ABA Club events. People attending feel the atmosphere in the room build as the evening progresses, friendship, conversation, new friends, truly great music, all come together to spark the magic of a real party, and time passes so quickly you will not believe what time it is, when it's over.

‍ I have been dancing since my early 20s, and these many events have enriched my life in so many ways, it would be hard to imagine life without dance. Planning, practicing new steps, choosing clothes, for a special night, remembering the friends I will see at a coming Club event, makes everything a bit better. And now being involved as an Indy Dancers Club officer, Dance DJ, Teacher, Podcaster, and webmaster, I get a great deal of joy seeing the members and guests really enjoying what we have helped produce.

‍ Tip: Volunteer to help your Club, it is even more rewarding when you see those many smiles, and hear the heart felt "thanks" from everyone.

‍And, don't be shy about telling your non-dance friends about the special fun you have at every Club event, get them to come, you will be doing them a big favor. I have found, many friends, exercise, wonderful music, and pure fun, and Club Events are so inexpensive when compared to other forms of entertainment!

Also: When you travel, plan to attend a ABA sister Club dance. Tell them where you are from, and your home Club, and I'm sure you will be made more than just a little welcome.

‍Thanks Dancers,
Don Mindach
